While priding herself on the ability to work with any rider and horse, Lela specializes in: helping OTTBs find 2nd career success, riders returning to the saddle, and equitation-based riding.
Lela's experiences in a broad variety of disciplines over the last 25 years, combined with 5 years of intense study in horsemanship methodology, allows for a unique approach to each and every student . Lela trains from a "horse-first" mentality and shares this approach with all her students.
Off- Site Services
B.N. Spired Horsemanship is currently offering lesson and training services at your location. Don't have a trailer or keep your horses at home? We will come to you!
Many riders struggle with finding help when they keep their horses at home or do not have access to a trailer or an arena to ride in handy.
This is where we come in! We will work with you at your location, and with available riding areas, to give you tools to improve your partnership with your horse.
Additionally, if you board your horse- but are looking for assistance and a better relationship with your horse- we can help you with this as well.
Fully insured and able to provide boarding barns with a COI upon request.
Local Lessons
Lessons are 45 min to 1-hour in length.
$70/hour within 30 miles of Des Moines
Available by appointment.

Need some coaching before a show?
Having an issue with loading, leading, catching, etc? We can help with problem issues as well.
Rates are the same as lessons and can be tailored to your specific needs.
Mini Clinics
Have a group of friends or riders that want to learn together?
We also offer Mini Clinics at your location to work with you and your horses.
$500/day for 6 hours of instruction, for up to 5 riders.
Format is progressive- starting with ground work and moving to ridden work.
Time also given to specific issues riders are facing.
